Neil Galvin is the primary contact and has been recruiting Chief Financial Officers the bulk of his career. He has been recruiting senior finance roles since the late 1990’s, starting his career in London before moving to New York for four years in 2000 and then emigrating to Sydney in 2004. With over 25 years experience recruiting senior finance roles in three continents he has a very strong global network.
Having worked in two of the biggest and most complex markets in the world, Neil brings a wealth of experience in knowing ‘what good looks like’ and being able to offer deep insight to both executives looking to make a move and also investors, boards and CEO’s making a CFO appointment.
What We do
We are a boutique agency focused on providing recruitment and search services placing Chief Financial Officers and their direct reports. We work nationally along the Eastern seaboard of Australia and New Zealand. We have also placed roles in Asia and London in the last 24 months.
A lot of our work is placing CFOs into private equity or venture capital owned businesses. We have a strong track record in private, ‘small to medium’ and founder led businesses, but also work with ASX Top 300, F500 and global businesses backed by global PE Funds.
Private Companies – We have a strong track record working with Founders who have brought on board capital partners to expand. Working with companies and recruiting their first ‘corporate CFO’ requires a strong appreciation of a Founder led culture as well as a focus on the future.

Current Market
The blur of COVID has been replaced wth geopolitical instability, rising global inflation, a significant tech correction in early 2022 and now major tremors in world banking markets. Volatility – both political and economic is the new normal and 2023 started no differently.
We saw a significant slow-down in technology CFO searches, with more replacements than growth roles over the last 12+ months. In VC world there are the ‘Haves’ and ‘Have nots’ and there is ongoing consolidation, rationalisation and valuation resets happening across the entire technology sector.
Global and domestic PE markets remain very strong, although deals are taking longer to get over the line this year. With all of the ongoing external challenges around inflation, cost of capital, talent shortages, rising costs and supply chain issues – CFOs continue to be busier than ever.
We are always on the look out for CFOs with PE experience, from any sector in any market. Also very keen to speak to 2iCs, step-up CFOs who are looking at their first foray into PE. As always there are great opportunities in the market for broad skilled, execution focused CFOs.
